That's true. It just really pissed me off how the studio head claimed he was against crunch while simultaneously implementing this shit.
Pretty insane that this shit at cdpr is better than most of the games industry. AAA gaming is a fuck.
Damn. I knew about the sexual harassment but I wasn't aware of the drug culture. Do you work in the industry? (Obviously you don't have to tell me if you feel it violates your privacy)
Thanks for sharing. The complicity of the employers with regards to alcohol stuff isn't shocking I suppose, given that it's their labor practices that lead to the substance abuse in the first place. I've noticed in the past few years people inside and outside the industry have began bring attention to many of the rampant abuses committed by game companies, in your experience has this led to any positive change within the industry?
That's sad to hear about game workers unite but not unexpected as you say. Here's hoping the industry can get it's shit together. Thanks for answering my questions, I appreciate it :)
Fuck crunch and all game studios that do this to their employees. When Nintendo was running behind on Animal Crossing they pushed the release date so that they wouldn’t have to do this to their employees and we’re all better for it.
