    are current intel chips even significantly faster than 3 year old intel chips?

    they have an architecture called LoongArch mao-shining

      For pretty much all commercial tasks 3 year old chips are more than enough. The capability to sustain industry is secured now.

    It's an impressive accomplishment. But I do wish they had stuck with standard open/royalty-free RISC-V, instead of using a modified version of it. We need all the fully standards-compliant RISC-V implementations we can get to break the AMD64/ARM duopoly.
