according to this, which is cited in the article, it's 159 foreign participants from 20 countries, not 159 countries
ah ok, updated to your link as well since it's more informative
The majority of the planet is saying they want an alternate to SWIFT...I wonder why. I really hope this ends up absolutely crushing it because it'll just be the next nail in the hegemonic power of the amerikkkan settler colonial government and I'm here for it!
The citation here seems to be a bit of a game of "telephone," and a really careless one at that.
The linked page cites a Xinhua article from January 30th quoting the Russian central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina, who said "that 159 foreign participants from 20 countries have already joined the Russian system (SFRS)."
That does sound like a misquote, good job digging into the sources.
That's 82% of the 194 countries (I don't recognize Isr*eli statehood) in the world.
193 you should also not recognise the US Occupied Korea
I think that's almost certainly going to be the end result. Once BRICS currency becomes available, anybody who's not a US vassal will switch to using it because that removes the possibility of US using economic coercion.
We should make a game of bingo out of guessing the countries that didn't.
