The working title and trailer imply that Pence is heavily involved, and that Sacha Barron Cohen shows up at some kind of Pence event. this would have been big news, and the fact that no one knew about this beforehand means someone somehow tried to cover it up.

Pence is a hateful, oafish dullard— the perfect target for a SBC prank. The movie releases a week before election day, and i think that’s intentional. Pence does something humiliating in the film and it is going to make him and maybe the dang cheetoh look like misogynistic impious assholes

and evangelicals will make excuses for it and it will not affect polling whatsoever

I met someone who worked on the first Borat. According to her, he has a nearly magical sense of where the line is with people. And he dances around that line for a while, then right after he crosses, he is ready to flee. In the scene on succession drive, with the three couples. He says "in my country, the men would go crazy for these women...mmm, not so much this one."

When he brought his own poop from the bathroom, it was over, and the whole film crew ran into the vans. They had double sliding doors and engines were running for a quick escape. And as they drove away there were shotguns being fired at them.

There was another scene in a new York bar, which didn't make it into the film, but a fight broke out. SBC was gone when police showed up. And the producer and cameraman spent a few nights at the police station. The movie studio called NYPD numerous times to get them out, with no luck. It just made them want to hold them longer. Fucking epic. It took a year after the film was finished to clear all the paperwork before they could release it.
