I've known a fair few Hong Kong immigrants and the ones that weren't spoiled millionaires were all really embarrassed by the fact.
I also dated a British girl very briefly who grew up in Hong Kong but couldn't speak Cantonese...
If I were a part of a largest drug cartel in history, I would be very embarassed.
