While this new method seems to be an overall net positive, I feel it’s important to note that the process of removing lignin from the bamboo is not an eco-friendly process, even when they claim to use eco-friendly chemicals to do so.
I guess the big advantage would be that at least the pollution would be localized if we don't have to deal with stuff like microplastics as a result.

Yes make oil irrelevant. If they can do this to scale and affordability it would be a game changer.
Growing bamboo forests instead of having oil fields would sure be an improvement.
It's a pain in the arse to clear of it's running bamboo honestly having some pandas around to keep it in check would be grouse
Can't get fresh shoots where I live. It adds such a nice texture to stir frys!
