It's absolutely brilliant. I'm planning to write up my thoughts after I beat it, but I feel confident saying this is a serious contender for best 3D platformer ever made.
The series has gotten a ton of comparison to Mario for its vibe, inventiveness, liveliness, and sheer fun. Mechanically, it also draws an enormous amount from Naughty Dog era Crash Bandicoot, appropriate for such a PlayStation-obsessed game. It's phenomenal, and I found myself laughing out loud and gasping at how innovative and detailed it is.
Reminds me of playing Mario odyssey or Mario Galaxy for the first time, its that good.
Oh shit. Mario Galaxy was basically the first Nintendo game I played besides Wii Sports. That is a huge draw for me. I have no plan on getting a PS5 but if I ever have a chance to play it, I'll do it!
