Yeah I remember when the Tim Apple thing happened, I was literally in tears laughing. Steve Bannon apparently told people that the "build the wall" thing was just supposed to be a mnemonic device that he told Trump to get him to remember to talk about immigration during the campaign, but Trump's baby brain just hears something and instantiates it as a literal reality instantly lol. I don't think Trump is capable of metaphor at all.
