Every liberal does it too, from center right radlibs to far-right "conservatives": the most extreme right fringe liberals hate the mainstream liberals for not being bigoted enough, the mainstream libs hate the radlibs for not being cruel enough, and the radlibs hate the left for not being chauvinist enough.
Denouncing chauvinism in particular is like a liberal moral event horizon, a cardinal sin against their self-interested belief in the righteousness of the imperial hegemon that keeps the treats flowing at gunpoint.
The liberal instinct is to appear "not too crazy" and to appease conservatives with compromise because otherwise the conservatives will get violent. Thus, when we show up we are "making them look bad" and "ruining their moderate image" through guilt by association. It doesn't help that they never appease us with compromise but only ever reserve compromise for those to their right. This is because they always imagine themselves to be "left of center" and thus compromising with anyone further to their left is "going too far" or "becoming a tankie." or whatever. The cherry on top is that they don't understand that both the liberal and conservative political classes are part of a joint capitalist class dictatorship. They will unironically say "you need both wings to fly" while not realizing the body of the plane itself only carries the capitalists and drops bombs on the workers.
