I have literally had a fascist dipshit make exactly that argument before, with the most self-satisfied tone like it was some sort of gotcha.
I've seen it on facebook accompanied by pictures of Trotsky like him being a communist somehow makes you not a racist for posting minstrel show memes.
He's often called me an asshole when I've called out his racism so not far off.
