    1. "Tankie" as a term like "red/commie" is meant to be a thought terminating catch all for those who do not conform to the pro-West, pro-US, and pro-NATO narrative. Online, to be labeled as a tankie means your opinions and arguments prima facie dismissed because they do not conform to pro-West political orthodoxy. "Tankie" can be used to mean Marxist-Leninists, but it's just a term that has come to mean "member of anti-capitalist/anti-West outgroup"

    2. I think it's mostly a shitposting successor version of r/chapotraphouse but there is an advocacy of socialism here. I think this site usually functions as a support network/safe space for people rather than a hub for organizing socialist activism.

    3. From what I've seen people do genuinely engage in good faith and then when those types of discussions collapse does the shitposting start against those users in that conversation. I don't think its policy or urged on in Hexbear to go actively antagonize and harass other instances just for the sake of it.

    A person sees a post and goes into the comments. They talk to the commenters and then a slight occurs. Then the shitposts start.
