I agree its a little weird to have to be "polite" for once instead of our more normal go-for-the-throat struggle session style and endless mocking.
the emphasis on being polite is so we dont get defederated. when we show up in someone’s home instance we should focus on educating and persuading, which is a lot less effective when being rude/snarky. most of our users voted for federation, so acting in ways that could get us defederated isnt fair to other users
not saying ur guilty of this, i just want to state this message as much as possible

I think things should cool down in a few weeks after all the nerds have defederated us and we'll go more or less back to normal. The "drama" has been very entertaining, and because we're all so online we effectively have a home field advantage no matter where we post.
Idk i was not aware of this community (hexbear) , unless lemmy liberals crying foul about us being fascists , but then I looked at this place , and i was like wow seems like home , so I think its postive for me !
