Liberals of Lemmy, I think Hexbear hasn't been fair to you. I wanted to open a dialogue here so that we can come to more of an understanding of each other. There were a few specific points I actually think we're closely aligned on and I wanted to use these as a basis for discussion with a goal of coming to a more mutual understanding.
Edit: Wow this post really got away from me, I went ahead and marked the meat of it as a spoiler so that folks can jump right into the community discussion portion.

Thanks for sharing this. I think we in Lemmygrad have a lot to learn from y'all about the right way to interact with liberals.
In case anyone's curious, here are some resources I found that might be useful!
Oh shoot I should have included this helpful resource as well. Just so much to say I totally forgot
Reddit refugee here. Can I get a general explanation of the political/ideological views on hex bear? I've been seeing a lot of drama about it but have no idea what it's all about.
Intersectional left anti-imperialism.
Intersectional because you cannot uplift the working class unless you're actually uplifting the entire working class by working with and understanding the working class.
Left because the right, center, and related ideologies have no interest in uplifting the working class.
Anti-imperialist because you cannot uplift the working class while exploiting the working class.
It's pretty straightforward, I think, and unless you're someone who owns and controls capital, shouldn't be controversial at all. And yet is because those who control capital have worked tirelessly to convince the working class that they actually have your best interest in mind, despite clearly not.
Remember r/cth? What if getting banned only made us more communist and pro-trans people?
So then what's with the drama between lemmygrad users and hexbear users?
I don't think there's much drama. Maybe there would have been years ago, but not too much anymore. Lemmygrad has a slightly different focus, and is explicitly marxist leninist, where hexbear is also open to anarchists, maoists and other flavors of communists (though they will often be met with some argumentation on certain issues, explicit sectarianism/making fun of them or saying they aren't actually communist or whatever is banned)
Honestly idk, I just always see post like ohh Lemmygrad did this or hexbear did that, let's defederate.
Ya know, reactionary things.
I've seen different instances (.world or Lemmy.ca) defed one or the other.
I haven't seen anything between the grad and hexbear.
We're both leftist, so the anti-communists in the fediverse lump us together.
Oh, you mean other instances reacting to the two of us, not us having beef with each other? I'm not aware of any grad-hexbear feud. I've been thrilled to have hexbears around.
