I tried a legion playthrough once. Aside from playthrough being kinda lame because 1) fascist larpers are lame and 2) the legion route is extremely barebones, it was actually kinda fun roleplaying a leopards ate my face moment as a super buff melee survival girl who committed countless hits for the Legion only to find she's banned from the arena. Because it made sense for this bloodlust filled murderer, I then went and stabbed Caesar in the head for it out of spite (just call it an emergency tumor excision).

Nope, Legate Lanius takes over if Caesar dies regardless of how it happens.
What I figured but couldn't remember if they even had someone else take over or just ended up completely leaderless/internal fighting for it
