what if when you were being shown an advertisement you get a "fast lane" if you answer a question about the product to have the ad end faster?
that way consumers can get to their experience faster and the brands can get valuable marketing data. IE, instead of showing the same ad twice, you're shown it once, and then next time it comes up instead of seeing it again you're given a question like, "Have you bought PRODUCT NAME in the last two weeks?" or "How do you rate this advertisement on a scale of 1-5?"
then you can make it easy to engage with (one button press, instead of a press and a confirmation).
we of course want them to have some time to engage with the poll, but we don't want them to just instinctively click on a button, so there will be a 1 second window after selecting an option for them to change their mind before the ad ends.
so the engagement windows are just like the community posts, the consumer sees a chance to express an opinion and then the brands get to get valuable marketing data. it's a win for everybody! :)
we will also want to measure engagement patterns with this. if it decreases engagement, we can make the prompts simpler, but if it maintains or increases engagement, we can make the ad experiences more involved or delay the "skip survey" option. we want the consumer to have a positive experience with the concept, so, we will start pretty generous and unintrusive so that the consumer will look forward to these surveys.
i don't know how advertisements actually work i have been running adblocker for years i'm just guessing
