Oh man, LTE 1 & 2 are some of my favourite albums of all time.

I didn't learn until years later, but apparently a lot of the albums were basically improvised. I think 3 Minute Warning was entirely made up on the spot. They rented out a cabin in the woods for a couple of weeks/months and just pumped out some of the best, incredible prog rock ever written like it was nothing lol.
