This anime has lots of good themes -discrimination -borders -religion -race purity nonetheless i think how they treat the concentration of different ethinities leads to mayhem sound iffy as fuck, maybe i have not understand it good enought,opinions?

    I think they're dumb intentionally. The show is about and critiques liberals. The character diverges from Trigger's usual protagonist who is already anti-authority and obviously leftist who wants to change the way things are. The character is apathetic, she doesn't want to change anything, she just wants to get better and leave. That's all she cares about. It's a closed and centrist mindset. What we see, by the end, is the progression of the character into the typical Trigger-attitude protagonist. The idea I believe is to display characters that are liberal or politically apathetic, and to display just how easily that shallow minded attitude and its politics can be co-opted into fascism. I agree that pretty much everyone is stupid in the show but I think it has a point.

    One thing I do think it deservers more criticism for is that all of its commentary is VERY on-the-nose.
