    As much as I enjoyed some of the scenes like that, I'm afraid the more I learn about John Brown the less I like The Good Lord Bird. It just seems like it was trying to undermine him as a historical figure for some reason.

      Yeah as all accounts of him by libs they play up the crazy (and make no mistake dude was batshit insane) they also miss the fact he was actually very articulate and soft spoken.
