    They do. Exxon knew about anthropogenic climate change since 1977, and had accurate predictions by 1982. Then they hid all the evidence and the fossil fuel industry started pumping money into climate change denying right wing media. As long as people argue with the denialists, they have less time to argue about what needs to be done.
