Between the genocide and the Cheney's. Absolutely disgusted and saddened by this world lately.
Yes I'm glad Kamala ate shit in this election, the Democrats deserve to lose forever. I am starting to lose remaining respect for people irl who still support them and it pains me because people I love have abstracted and dismissed a genocide as an "election issue".
Material conditions have a huge impact on racism. Imagine if food housing education and health care were available...
I don't believe the bloodlust of amerikkkans toward the middle east would be reduced even if those conditions existed.
USAmericans would still see foreigners as lesser, they would just use their improved conditions as a cudgel
The small business tyrants with a brand new truck every two years a vacation home and a business they have to work at 20 hours a week are some of the most vitulantly racist people in this country.
The poorest people are more likely to vote dem than those shitheads.
Same with trades, guys making more money than 90% of the town who haven't seen a minority in 8 years will tell you a joke where the punch line is just a slur within 10 minutes of meeting you.
Didn't Trump win people making under $50k, and the Democrats do best with upper classes?
As the contradictions inherent in late stage capitalism continue to grow more severe, the poorest Americans will look for any remedy, even if it's one that us Marxists know is self-defeating. Especially when there is no real leftist political movement articulating an alternative to right wing "populism" (which is really just the nationalist bourgeoisie attempting to secure their power against the international, neoliberal, bourgeoisie). And double especially when most Americans don't have a labor union that they can look at as an example of collectivization bringing real benefits to their material conditions.
