Has anyone told us not to break out of Hexbear ? I think we are doing it because we all just browse Local but maybe we should share the fun with .ml and lemmygrad
We haven't been strictly told not to, but if we start replying to ourselves, they're going to ban us as spam without context. Especially at our current posting speed and power. Unless every post is serious business.
It would the best if it seemed like a normal account with a strangely high level of activity. People would then check the account profile, and discover the bit. Maybe even once or twice it would break the facade, so to speak, and comment twice on a post.
We need a bot to manage the rules. A Bot could check if a top level comment has been made before letting us post another one. and could stop us from accidently posting on ourselves. As we said further up we could also have a proxy IP that all comments are routed through so we could spread to other social media.
Then we need rules on invites I say nobody outside of hexbear. We also need a new user to hide the evidence and maybe even disband bureaucrat.
i looked at the 6 day old account and he seemed completely fine to me ( i looked at some of the posts and comments ).
I'm one of those that has been giving the password to people and I always first take a look at the accounts that ask just to be safe.
Maybe I could start to do a more in depth search if we feel it would be necessary.
I was browsing their "top of the week" posts and comments, maybe i should actually do the opposite to see if there is something bad hidden for the next people that ask. Because obviously we don't upbear bad takes usually
We can make a post where wanna-be Bureaucrat ask for the password and a committee decides on the matter (3 thumbs up and we send the password), unless it's an old account
EDIT: i'm not sure how we would check if it's 3 different people leaving a thumps up but we can figure that out as we go ? Maybe you have to send a DM from your non Bureaucrat account ?
Except on holidays when we are closed unless it's a religious holiday in which case we are closed unless it's on a leap year in which case our most local department is open. Local to what? Sorry we're closed
Whichever bureaucrat is looking at the messages should check the post history for sure. Just to make sure they're not a new spam account or someone banned 12 times already.
Edit: we can also communicate with ourselves via edits
and some of us is thinking about constructing a monster poster that exists in every social media platform and has posting power like nobody in the world!
Maybe we can add a number at the end of our comments when we go outside of hexbear.
Like i could end my comment with #bureaucrat1111 so then, if someone replies, they use a different identification code. Obviously this should only be done outside of hexbear... but maybe not because if we have multiple signatures that might lift the jig.

We need to come to consensus on a few points of order before we break containment. Some I would say are:
It would the best if it seemed like a normal account with a strangely high level of activity. People would then check the account profile, and discover the bit. Maybe even once or twice it would break the facade, so to speak, and comment twice on a post.
We can comment twice on a post but we shouldn't contradict ourselves

Yeah right now we give the password to all who ask, but we should really check before we give it to a 6 day old account again

Too much scrutiny ruins the bit, but not enough will make it last two more days tops

you got my vote

I think we need a 3rd space for policy discussion/ recruitment.
Matrix? But then maybe we end up ruining the bit with too much scrutiny or, ironically, too much red tape
We need a distributed ledger, blockchain! (I'm just saying words)
Dynamic restructuring let's circle back with all the ducks in the pond next quarter
Like a real bureaucracy. We're supposed to keep the comm locked though and only allow mod posts, meaning us
Like a real bureaucracy we should be open during frustrating hours and our schedule is incomprehensible
We close applications after work hours. What time zone? Every time zone.
Except on holidays when we are closed unless it's a religious holiday in which case we are closed unless it's on a leap year in which case our most local department is open. Local to what? Sorry we're closed
yes, only we can post, but no one said anything about comments did they ?
I think people can comment on a specific Megathread
Agreed

but commenting to ourselves is the funny bit

I think we should wait a bit longer

That's just regular posting
