Howdy there friends!

I'm charlie and I'm an avid knitter, mostly socks and shawls, but I dabble in most aspects of fiber crafts! Hoping to get into yarn spinning next year if circumstances allow. My other less intense hobbies are gardening, violin/piano, reading (mostly history), and board games.

I'm non-binary, they/him pronouns. My journey has been a lot of self doubt and imposter syndrome, but I'm extremely lucky to have the best wife/best friend I could imagine.

I love dice rollers and worker placement games. I've got some more expansions for Too Many Bones coming soon, I imagine that will take up all the table time for a while. Usually my wife and I play Viticulture and Wingspan as our Go-To games. What kind do you play? :)

Too Many Bones isn't a game I'd recommend people buy, it's kind of unnecessarily expensive because of the materials. But I 1000% recommend playing it if you get the chance, it's a blast and the components are pretty satisfying if you're into table feel.

The best is a friend with a large collection who's good at teaching! (or a library with a good selection, but I moved and don't have that anymore) I've played Dead of Winter a bunch, I love the humor in it. I'm never able to get anybody else invested in playing deck builders with me, so they usually end up being solo games. I really like Aeons End and the Arkham Horror LCG lately.

Our whole group chipped in to buy this game, everything together in the big box weighs over 100lbs too, so we get creative when we gotta move it. Kids absolutely love it, you don't need any rules if the dice and chips are pretty! It's also pretty indestructible with the plastic cards and neoprene mats. Crossed fingers no pieces go missing, lol.

Android: Netrunner is one of those holy grail games for me, I played a game once with proxy cards and had a blast. I'm hoping for an eventual re-print or re-licensing, I'm not sure where that one is at. What a bummer! CCG's are really hard for me to find people to play with too, that's mostly why I started playing Arkham Horror LCG. You can play 1-4 handed instead of multiplayer and make it a solo experience. It's also one of those deck builders where you build your deck before the game and enhance it between rounds. Aeons End is a deck builder where you build your deck during the game. I'm not sure which I prefer, but I really like Arkham Horror for the ambiance.

I'll lyk my thoughts on them when I play, the board game cafe I go to has a copy of each :)

That's awesome! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Aeons End is especially opinion provoking because you don't shuffle your deck normally, so you play around what order you discard things and how well you remember what's in your discard pile and in what order it will come up.
