Interestingly enough in Middle-Earth originally orcish weapons were actually well made, just purely utilitarian. Only illustrations made them full of "evil" accessories. LotR movie took that back quite a lot, especially Isengard army enacted standarisation and high level of early-industrial mass production thus Uruk-Hai were actually better armed and armored that even Gondorian army.
