Apparently we are seeing a resurgence in the use of bicycle infantry in the Ukraine war due to the advent of eBikes as they are capable of achieving high speeds with minimal noise and without the heat signature of a motorcycle, meaning that they have a significant advantage for avoiding detection. Perhaps we will see a second wave of cycling infantry due to eBikes especially in irregular warfare in the near future?

    makes sense, especially in an urban environment. i vaguely recall an aside to this effect in a book about chariots i read once. ebike mobile infantry with drone support securing access to dwindling fresh water supplies interspersed with the occasional ballistic missile strike seems to be where the answer to the old "i don't know with what weapons ww3 will be fought" question.
