Don't let the right wing have this guy
Removed by modThis guy is our guy, got it? Yes he has said some stupid shit on Twitter but it's the actions that make a person, not the beliefs. This guy is a hero to the vast majority of the working class in the United States, who have been suffering under the absolute tyranny of the evils of the American "Healthcare" system. Maybe he will say some even dumber shit in the coming days, who knows? What I know is that we can't be like the Democrats who are bowing over themselves to remove credit whenever something good happens. This can't be like every political debate where the Republicans say something like "This Democrat wants to do all these great things" and then the Dem says "NO I'm not cool, I'm a total piece of shit actually!"
Maybe he will say something absolutely irredeemable to make him worth abandoning later, but as for now this guy is a confused brainwormed guy who needs some theory put in his hands. If we can have critical support for anti-imperialists abroad we can have critical support for this guy.
Let me elaborate further: if you really hate this guy for what he said on Twitter, I understand that. Think of him as a tool for exploiting class consciousness. He can be abandoned when he is no longer useful. But for now, it's crucial that Trumpists don't see this guy as one of them and think that they are doing the right thing. I don't want some baby leftist coming in here to see us shitting on this guy, thinking we're all clowns, and then leaving.
This is the CORRECT attitude. He is a tool in the same way some outrage perpetuated on the people is a tool. We do not need to claim him, but we should fight for the meaning of his actions in ways that are useful for us, as leftists. It might mean acknowledging "directional correctness" while critiquing his tactics (I'll keep saying it - we don't want dead CEO's, we want a complete end to the system - and if there needs to be violence on the way, so be it).
GOOD post
