Heya all,

As the title implies I recently switched from Concerta (27 mg) to Vyvanse (20 mg) because I had heard very wonderful things about the latter and upping my Concerta dosage wouldn't be ideal given my blood pressure. I'm about six days in to the swap and quite honestly I feel like shit. Like, obviously I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms from a stimulant I took habitually for years but this still sucks. I'm curious to hear from others who have had the same experience, particularly about how long the adjustment period was.

i take adderall and it is my understanding that vyvanse is closest to that. i know adderall withdrawals suck like a mild cold and irritability. lasts a few days to about a week. so ide give it at least two weeks before you fully decide unless its absolutely miserable and the new medicine doesnt seem to work

no problem. with all the adderall shortages ive unfortunately gone through that withdrawal a few times. it blows because you really feel like a massive cold is about to hit you. sharts like 2-3 days after last dose and last 4-7 days.

concerta is not quite the same type of stimulant as adderall and vyvanse but im sure it has its own withdrawal period.

i wish there was more readily available information about this stuff for medication takers, because its important. but if you search for "stimulant withdrawals" and stuff like that its very broad and mostly geared towards people with hardcore addiction to illicit drugs, which isn't quite the same for us who take this shit because we have to

I tried doing the same switch last week and made it four days before switching back. Vyvanse did almost nothing for my concentration, it just made me irritable and unable to sleep.

Simply to add a competing anecdote to an anecdote: vyvanse does great for my focus and even helps me sleep under the right circumstances. YMMV

I take 30mg in the morning. It's helped with my focus a bit, though not as much as I'd like. It did fix my sleep. Without cannabis, it would take me one or two hours of rolling around in bed before I passed out. Now I'm out within 10 to 15 minutes.
