If you have experience with AA, NA, rehab, SMART recovery, or addiction in general let me know. I'm trying to make this comm a safe space for people in recovery too alongside the general improvement people are working on.
Fantastic and congrats on your sobriety! I'm in the process of trying to quit smoking myself as well. (I say this as I bought two vapes today )
I know that feel. Someone mentioned to me their friend quit smoking and it took her like 200+ tries to quit. I'm only on like 20 times now.
Welcome! I'm eager to know more about smart recovery. I attended a few in rehab but I've mostly done AA.
Almost 7 months clean. I support a comm for this. I could use it, and I know my comrades could too
Congrats on your sobriety! Hopefully you can forward them here and they can fine a safe space.
Ayyy hello! 13 months off booze, have quit research Chemical opiates cold turkey, and sucessfully tapered off a 10 year phenibut addiction. Hoping to be of help to anyone who needs it!
i am an addict in recovery, have experience in the detox and rehab process, im active in NA, and i have a little bit of experience w SMART recovery, happy to chat about all of the above . i cant claim freedom from nicotine but am smoke free for nearly a year so we’ll get there
I enjoyed NA more than AA while I was in rehab, probably due to the fact that NA was around my age (30+) while in AA was mostly bougie boomers. Welcome!
thanks friend and yea, ime NA skews a bit younger, less white, and less religious so i found a home there but i also live in a large metro so it's easier to find meetings. Small cities and rural areas still seem to heavily favor AA but it's all pretty similar. fyi for anyone who is curious, alcohol is absolutely considered a drug in NA so if you're in recovery for alcohol you are more than welcome if NA is closer to you or you're interested in it.
Indeed, a lot of people get tripped up on that and think they can't attend NA for alcoholism.
