Oh that's pretty cool. It's concave so the Wok sits inside the heating element.
yeah, it also heats slightly ofset from center due to the shape of the coil which gives you that crazy hot area to flick things through.
Goes from nothing to smoking in like 5 seconds on full power. Much higher heat transfer than even a home gas stove, less heating up the side, but it's easy enough to rotate to heat the sides when starting out.
I'm so pleased to hear the wok is working! It looks really delicious.
