I presume in your hypothetical scenario I wouldn't be allowed to pirate paid content or even watch it at a friend's or play/read thanks to someone else. It'd be just magically out of my reach.

I might do it for 10k, if it's USD. If it's AUD I'd be on the fence, probably not although it depends on my finances.
