Like you I know my vote isn't going to matter w.r.t. the actual outcome, but I would rather add to the popular vote count of a candidate who's actually putting forward a good version of the Green New Deal, one which openly states that it'll be paid for by slashing the military budget and closing tax loopholes for the rich.

The current government would also never slash the military budget by 75% without constant bottom-up pressure from an organized mass movement. This program is technically feasible under the existing government but is formulated to highlight the limitations of bourgeois electoral politics and compel people sympathetic to the banner for an ecosocialist GND to start drawing revolutionary conclusions, and to recognize the necessity of grassroots working-class organizing both within and beyond electoral campaigns.
