Without Trump at the helm, I think the party is ripe to be re-colonized by the Lincoln Party parasites. They need him to lead the party, because the alternative is Ted fucking Cruz. Life in the US is still way too good for too many people to justify a revolution. And the places that might be approaching the levels of shit that would provoke an uprising tend to have the smallest population of the revolutionarily minded.
