I mean, the Electoral college kind of does “gerrymander” it in a way, but the anti-democratic nature of it is honestly more egregious than some of the worst jerrymandering we have. Democrats will never talk about fixing this, though.
And yet it's an extremely fringe position in the party because they a) care more about preserving the norms. and b) don't really want to make electoral reforms that may hypothetically weaken the control of the parties. and c) don't actually want to win.

Wouldn't they want to abolish it though considering it only helps Republicans and hurts them?
