    I remember being in high school when the teacher gave us a hypothetical: You've been tasked with neutralizing the government of the DPRK, they have artillery pointed at Seoul, any attack will trigger immediate retaliation, how do you proceed? My "humane" answer was to evacuate civillians and begin a targeted assassination campaign against their military officers, which even as a 16 year old radlib felt kind of gross, but I couldn't really explain why and it seemed like he least worst option. But oh boy, did my classmates come out with some bangers. Suggestions included:

    Bomb them first with no warning and hope they don't get a shot off

    Land invasion

    Nuclear warhead

    The experience of being in a discussion with people casually advocating for Korean genocide 2, in front of the classes many Korean students as part of a classroom discussion on how to do imperialism best, was the most Verhoeven experience of my young life, and a pretty big "are we the baddies" moment.
