Xiang Jingyu, born on this day in 1895, was one of the earliest female members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a pioneer of the women's movement of China. She was executed by Guomindang police on May 1st, 1928.

Xiang Jingyu was politically radicalized when she attended the Montargis Women's University in France. While studying there, Jingyu read many of Marx's works and became a communist.

In 1923, Xiang became editor of a weekly supplement to The Republican Daily, a Guomindang newspaper. The same year Xiang Jingyu was also elected as a Central Committee member and became the first secretary of the "Women's Movement Committee".

In 1924, Xiang led a strike involving about ten thousand female workers from silk factories. Then, she founded the "Committee of Women's Liberation" and trained many female cadres, who then became a force against feudalism and imperialism.

Xiang Jingyu was arrested in the French Concession Sandeli in Wuhan on March 20th, 1928. French officials turned her over to the Guomindang in April. On May 1st, 1928 she was executed.

I'm part of the weird minority that really, really doesn't like legends lmao. I think it's the worst video game I've ever played in my life. But I'm not gonna shit on people who like it or anything, I just have different tastes. And frankly I don't see either legends or let's go having a sequel. Maybe an eventual "spiritual successor" in the same series if you view legends as a spiritual successor to let's go. But for now I'm excited for the gen ix DLC

let's go was made like 4 years after the pokemon go hype died down, I don't think there's a point in making another game with the mobile game catching mechanics

IIRC they said they'll do another let's go if the response was positive enough. Discounting the rabid hatred from terminally online pokemon fans (as expected for any new pokemon game), the game had relative good critical reception and sold relatively well internationally. However, domestic sales (most important for gamefreak) were apparently underwhelming so they probably won't make more.

I'd still be fine with something completely different tbh. It'd be nice to have a surprise

I feel like gamefreak literally cannot remake johto again at this point because having two regions in one game work make their other games look way worse by comparison. wonder what their plans are after s/v dlc wraps up

imagine GF makes a new game with giratina as the mascot legendary and the plot is a parody of the "satanic panic" in the US where evangelicals called pokemon demons

i know i'm going off a tangent here but i don't think the vast majority of humans in the pokemon universe actually know about giratina. Even cyrus was caught off guard at the spear pillar and he's done enough research into the mythology of the setting to know about forging the red chain etc
