As usual, I struggle to form a proper sneer in the face of such sheer wrongheadedness. The article is about a furry who was dating a Nazifur and was battered for it; the comments are full of complaints about the overreach of leftism. Choice quote:

Anti-fascists see fascism everywhere (your local police department) the same way the John Birch Society saw communism everywhere (Dwight Eisenhower.). Or maybe they are just jealous that the fascists have cool uniforms and boots. Or maybe they think their life isn’t meaningful enough and it has to be like a comic book or a WWII movie.

Well, I do wear a Captain America shirt often…

Tech bro: "Violence is wrong! You should debate nazis, not punch them! I think their ideas are reasonable enough such that if a nazi gets punched, I begin to sympathise with them!"

Nazi: "It is right for me and others like me to cause harm, and my victims deserve it. Everyone else is subhuman. Anything I say publicly is behind a facade of reasonable-ness so that I can continue existing in society."

Tech bro: "Wow, interesting. Reminds me of some of the great thinkers, like Musk and Jobs. Tell me more!"

Nazi: "If given the opportunity to form a coalition of power, I will use that power to satisfy my bloodlust. You saying my ideas are reasonable gives me that space to inflict violence of every kind against all groups that I oppose."

Tech bro: "Sooooo reasonable and valid!"

[nit, peanut gallery] it’s disappointing to see such impressions be almost faithful but then miss the slobbering noises of the bootlickers

(Edit: I tried to add this previously to make the /s clear but apparently lemmy or mlem ate it: < /orangeposter impression >)
