The Good
- WEED'S LEGAL TO CONSUME PERSONALLY WITH NO PERMITS BITCH.
- 4 to 6 plants per person.
- Laws have been passed with the end of releasing people that are actually being processed for small amounts of weed.
- Established a 6 month term to eliminate criminal records in benefit of people processed or sentenced.
- 40% of all licenses for cultivation are for originary peoples and people of rural areas (and seems to operate as co-ops) while "associations" (which also seem to be a type of co-op) are allowed.
The Bad
- Can only be consumed in a close residence or in an approved area.
- People can make citizens complaints about incorrect mariguana usage.
- Incorrect mariguana usage will still be penalized, from fines to prison.
- Nothing has been said on freeing those already processed or caught in other types of marijuana related offenses nor reparations or aknowledgement of the failure that was the prohibition and criminalization of marijuana and marijuana users.
- Commercialization seems fucky and permits big companies to also acquire licenses and sell alongside the co-ops.
i'm SO jealous
mexican senate finally pressed one of the "do something actually good" buttons (with a bit of... pressure of a popular nature, I should say)
