It is also a highly political picture capable of destroying families and long standing friendships. Actual riots have happened because some people say: 'we don't want a racist caricature in our holiday'.

I went to the Netherlands around christmas to visit a girl I was dating and got pretty freaked out seeing those things performing in the middle of the train station. Like I felt more racist just for being able to see them.

Yeah must be shocking. Luckily it's not the norm anymore at most places. I have an unfortunate blackface pic of me as an oblivious kid sadly.

If you want to tear the mask off of the enlightened civilized EU smuglords, bring up Roma.

The results are almost instantaneous. frothingfash

If the Roma people existed in amerika they would be murdered in the streets en masse. A marginalized group who's way of life infringes upon the amerikan god of property rights? They wouldn't last a week.

First Nations peoples have persisted for centuries after the initial colonial invasion and endured many such attempts.

I mean, that's all true, and yet they're still light-years ahead of the US...

Also, in guessing this was made by an American, because nobody outside of there would call left parties liberal. Liberal parties are to the right, it's just that the US doesn't actually have an actual left.

In practice, no. In theory, liberals believe in the free market while the socdems do not. But both will defend the market as such, which is why socdems are ineffectual and easily duped by bourgeois interests.

a liberal is anyone who believes in the tenets of liberalism, mainly those active in a bourgeois democracy

contemporary socdems believe in those, they're libs too

portugal, a "social-democracy", isnt doing much better with its increasing privatization of national industries and growing wealth gap of the poor and the rich....all supported by the, i kid you not, "socialist party of portugal".

Shout out to the cuban doctors tho, my entire family in portugal is getting treated by cuban doctors as portugal lacks medical professionals because people with degrees keep emigrating from portugal to go somewhere where the wages are better.

It's too late. The grasp of finance capital on the US' state of political economy is so strong that the ruling elite scoff at the notion of even providing some crumbs of the pie, i.e., imperial super profits, to placate domestic labor.

On the upside, immigrants can't freeze to death during winter if there's no more winter which there won't be anymore soon
