holidays are coming up and im getting everyone books or other informative media. im thinking particularly of one relative i have who i feel already has a lot of ideas that mesh with socialism (they're a social worker who works w/ troubled youth, came from working class background). this relative of mine doesn't necessarily believe in god and is into more modern humanistic/self-help material, so is there anything y'all think would work well to stoke the flames of socialism in them?

any recommendations for audiobooks would be great too as they are usually short on time!

im also looking for more general recommendations for books that would work well with other family members who range from moderately devout Christians to Catholic/Christian in name only but still claim it. I'd say other important intersections that would interest these people would be any material written in english that is in conversation with latine or latin american experiences. any help or recommendations at all would be appreciated!! tysm!

I made a library post on here a while ago that has a lot of good books. I can answer any recommendation from there. There's also a lot of other ebooks I have. Here it is.

In general, I highly recommend getting something from Verso books, Haymarket books, or Pluto Press as they are the three radical left publishers that publish the best books, new and old. They are also all running 40 percent off sales till January.

The relative looking at self-help humanistic stuff may apprepriate this. I also would recommend pedagogy of the oppressed, it is used in many pedagogy curricula and deals with how education should be liberatory.

Verso books also has a book list for the radical Christianity, here which is interesting.
