I am currently a cyber-security student in the US and am interested in the prospect. My family has a friend from Mali who is a economics professor who goes every year to teach English and it sounds very interesting.
I don't know specifically about China, but I have taught English in South Korea and Japan, and at least when I was looking into doing so there were plenty of jobs in China as well that seemed to have roughly the same requirements: be a native from an english speaking country, have a college degree, don't have a criminal record. However, these were mostly positions that were year long contracts. There are also some more temporary jobs, for example in Korea many people took short term summer camp jobs.
Anyway, just google TEFL in China or go to a website like Dave's ESL cafe. If they have gotten pickier over the years, you may benefit from taking a course to get certified for TEFL, it is very easy and I took the 120 hour online course from the University of Toronto and got certified, some jobs will give you more pay or be more likely to select you if you are certified. I personally also watched a bunch of youtube videos from people who had already went and taught in the countries I was going to for helpful tips about certain things like what to bring, cultural shock expectations, etc
