    ich will Deutsch lernen

    I made it to an intermediate level in university, but I've forgotten most of it, and I recently started trying to refresh my memory with Duolingo, but I'm not finding it very helpful

      Ich fand, dass mann kann am besten durch deutsches synchronisiert Fernsehen lernen. Kinderfernsehen ist besonders gut, um Deutsch zu lernen. Es halt dein Deutsch scharf und die Vokabel ist normalerweise ziemlich simpel.

      I found one of the best ways is to watch TV shows, especially kids shows, in german dub. Keeps you sharp and usually the vocabulary is pretty standard.

        Yeah, media consumption is probably the best thing for learning a language and what kept my English at a decent level.

        It's really sad that we don't have a German Chapo/TrueAnon/SrslyWrong podcast, only "Wohlstand für Alle". It's a great podcast, don't get me wrong, but they get into economic theory, where the words sometimes are hard to grasp even for native speakers. Also they quote Marx quite regularly, and if you struggle reading Marx in English, you definitely don't want to read him in German lmao.

          Alter, Marx auf Deutsch will ich nie erdulden. Es ist schade, dass es so wenig guter podcasts für politische diskussion gibt. Ich würde denken, dass ihr etwas gutes hat, weil ihr Die Linke habt. Eigentlich ist es nicht so. Ich wohnte in Deutschland vor ich echte politische meinungen formte, deswegen war mein Verständnisses der deutscher Politik leider nicht so gut. Hoffentlich werden die Leute heir ein bisschen Deutsch lernen, so dass wir etwas wie einen deutschen Chapo machen kann.
