All this "I'd rather have trump in office than vote for biden because I'm a stubborn little bitch" shit on lemmy lately has to be some kind of astroturfing effort. I know Americans are idiots, but come on.

This is my 'lightly'. Reason I'm not absolutely planting my verbal foot in your ass about this is because I get it. I absolutely do get the urge to want to see this country fall apart at the seams, burning in the streets; I want to see riots that would put Watts and Ferguson to shame.

But right now, if we were to indulge the urge to right the scale that bends history's arc that way, by indulging in reckless accelerationism, we'd lose substantial amounts of the people we're supposed to be doing this for at the hands of aggrieved fascists-- and know for a fact, if my community gets to a point where it is so depleted as to be unable to fight, my hands aren't going to the assistance of settler counter-efforts; they're leaving the country, on foot with a rucksack if need be.

By absolutely no means am I saying "support the virulently racist shambling cadaver in the blue tie". What I'm saying, is to let the duopolous uniparty fight amongst themselves. That way for those of us still stuck here and in existential threat from said fascists, should the worst-case scenario still come to pass, it's not directly on your head.

A powerful country completely collapsing, but controlled by fascists with access to nukes is not a good outcome for the world.

I'd rather the United States decline in power to allow the workers from everywhere else have more opportunities to seize the means of production.

If people in the United States try to push the people in the socialist direction and not the fascist direction, they could seize power democratically. The fascists will act out like the monsters they are and it will be legally easy to suppress these ghouls.

Decline of US will have the fascists in power inevitably, do you really think people of US are so revolutionary that they can resist fascism. I don't think so. You people are ingrained with decades of propaganda. After this Ukraine situation and not a single strong anti war movement I don't believe that western countries can become socialist anywhere near future.

If one lives in the United States, it is not wrong to try. As conditions worsen the capitalist state will blame anyone but the capitalists for its decline. That decline is obvious. It is easy to see how capitalists cause the problems more than trans people or any other minority that the fascists will blame.

Harsher times lead to more restless people. The question is how can that energy be channeled into? Socialism or barbarism?

It is not wrong to make the superstructure of the US society to understand how capitalism actually works. It is up to China to do its part and provide better deals for all developing nations not do all its deals with the IMF and World Bank. The destruction and undermining of imperialist trade relations will lead to a decline in the imperial core to become like all other nations. It is the duty of communists regardless of nation to lead where they are to build socialism according to their environment's material conditions.

Would I deny that the Socialists in the west are weak as hell? No. There are protests but they are sparsely attended and of course the media doesn't report on them. The media doesn't cover the masive waves of strikes that much either, but that is an indicator that the potential exists.

The developing nations just need to keep more of the wealth they generate, then the rest of the pieces will fall into place.

The way I see it is, that I will die in a nuclear war or I will not. As long as I am able I'll push American people towards socialism in what means I am able for the sake of this planet. If I die, my obligations to this world are ended. Simply accepting defeat when it is not guaranteed doesn't sit well with me. Accepting nuclear war and climate change to destroy our species is not a condition that I will accept without trying to stop them.

There is a lot more hope for leftism in America than other imperialist countries. The culture that is projected is reactionary af and there is obviously still a lot of liberal propaganda embedded in people's heads, but that is changing.

I understand the frustration and contempt people outside of this country have for Americans, I do. But the right wing does not enjoy mass popular support. The conservative politics of the US, especially in red states, is not just an indication of what a minority of Americans endorse, but an indication of how repressed the majority of Americans are.

There will be nothing good that comes from wanting to see working Americans suffer more than we are (and we are). The people here are not hopeless. There are a lot of barriers here that are put in place structurally that is not reflective of where most people's hearts are.

This is where I have to disagree with you. If this were the case, then why have there been so many subjects of empire slabbed out by cop, with barely any real attempts on behalf of settlerdom to put their own bodies 'between the gears and the wheels, between all the apparatus' when it is known that if a pig pulls the service weapon, a life is about to end? Basically from where I sit, just because the right wing doesn't enjoy mass popular support right now doesn't mean the people themselves don't carry some element of rightist belief within themselves that makes it patently impossible to trust them.

This is what I mean when I say if I ever get the unshakable sense that my people don't have the spirit to fight anymore, I'm just dipping. I'm not putting my body, my skin, my soul on the line for people who'd never do the same for me. This understanding is why I don't leave the house unstrapped.

I feel you. Maybe I'm too biased because, without doxing myself, I live in a pretty radical area where that can and does happen. Not enough, but it's happening more often. But again, huge structural barriers and heavy repression by the state is a large reason why it doesn't happen more. It's not that people don't care. People are pissed but they're also terrified and have too much to lose. Job, families, healthcare, etc. In ATL people are being charged with 35 years in prison for simply handing out flyers. We can't ignore just how much coercion there is from multiple angles keeping the people immobile.

Not only that, but the generation that has been the dominant foece in politics for over half a century is literally in their hospice years. The current younger generations are the most explicitly anticapitalist generations in our history. There's tons of learning to do, but it's gonna take a little time to overcome the decades of McCarthyism.

If it helps, I have had the same conversation in my head and have also heavily considered my exit plan. Anything can happen, but it will eventually be clear whether the left has any hope of challenging the resurfaced wave of white nationalism within US politics.

Hey, valid. Maybe you don't have to have those concerns; but there's still subjects of empire in this hellscape I have to worry about; still colonized folks who don't deserve the klansmen that accelerationism will bring.

I don’t mean to be rude, I love his tweets, but his historic tax cuts, attempted assassination of Maduro and putting in Rex Tillerson for head of Energy were too fucked up to be a funny administration.
