Yeah, I remember as a child talking to my dad about some cool thing I read about in a sci fi book about people being sent to mars and some government conspiracy so that one of its moons would do some immensely profitable operation but it would eventually collide with mars killing everyone on it, and my dad just said "they'd have my complete support for that if they put all the g*****s on it" and I basically just went at him since I didn't have the confidence to actually argue back against him.
