A new study finds poor quality of available foods, increased intake of calories from foods high in trans-fatty acids, and environments that do not foster physical activity, all prevalent in disadvantaged neighborhoods, disrupt the flexibility of information processing in the brain that is involved in reward, emotion regulation, and cognition.
It's interesting to see it laid out in a study but like, yeah no duh.
Can you imagine some future historian finding these sorts of papers?
Like, "Oh shit, they knew this was happening. Knew what these conditions did to people, and it was going on for long enough that they were able to published research papers on the conditions before, you know, DOING anything about it."
Good thing we didn't knowingly build infrastructure around lead in the US!
