A bonus round would be interesting, but I don't think most orgs would be interested, same as how the tournament nights were phased out years ago. Main problem is the fighters take months training for a certain number of rounds, and pace themselves accordingly. By adding an arbitrary extra round because some judge made a bonehead decision, you'd automatically favor fighters like the Diaz Bros, who could probably fight 8+ rounds if they needed to.
The real problem here is that the athletic commissions (especially Nevada) appoint judges based too much on cronyism. Some of these people know boxing perfectly well, but barely know how they're supposed to score MMA, as we saw tonight.
