This is real good shit. If you've never had it, it's a custard pie with the buttermilk adding flavor. This recipe comes from a much beloved restaurant from my hometown that recently closed down after something like 40 years. Enjoy!
I feel like a single bite of this would almost literally kill me. With that being said it sounds tasty as fuck.
Hey now, this only has a single pound of butter. This is restrained by Southern cooking standards
Shit. I have leftover buttermilk and a frozen pie crust rn. Gonna have to do this.
An abbreviation for pound, sorry my presumably non-imperial measurement using comrade
Hur in the grand ol' AU of STRALIA we use kilograms and we like it, commie!
We're still using hogsheads and cubits I'm afraid
Ohhhhhhh my goodness I feel like I can taste this from a southern diner, or at least something similar anyway thank you
Buttermilk pie is amazing, I made some recently. I like to bake it till it has a nicey browned top for some crisp caramel flavor. It goes great with some black coffee
