Hey everyone! I'm really excited that there was so much enthusiasm for the idea of a feminist, leftist book club.

I thought about it a while and decided it might make sense to kick off with the short manifesto Feminism for the 99% by Arruzza, Bhattacharya & Fraser. It details the difference between leftist feminism and liberal feminism pretty clearly, so with it we'd hopefully all be on the same page. (Or not, if we disagree with any of their theses!) Anyway it's only 85 pages, which is practical if you see this announcement late.

I'll put up a discussion thread about the book on January 30th. In that same thread we can choose our February book together. :) Happy reading, hope this is alright lmao, I've never started a proper book club before

I'm excited! Also I just scrolled through /c/womenby and found out literally every post has one of two downvotes lmao. So now I'm extra excited to spam whoever these dedicated h8rz are 😂

Hey. I'm new here. Very interested in joining the book club :) I see I'm a bit late, but I've downloaded the book and will try to read it before the 30th. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Oh damn! I thought my library was cool, but they're not stocked-up-on-leftist-manifestos cool 😁

It was a pleasant surprise. And they actually have two copies!
