Sorry about the algae, but they likes it so I leaves it.
Also thats a shed skin stuck in the soil to the left, not a dead shrimp.
A blurry picture, I know, but these little guys are like 1 inch long and behind glass and water so my camera doesn't like taking photos of them.

do you keep anything else in there with them or is it just the tiny pink guys?
You can't really keep cherry shrimp with anything because they're small and tasty. If you're careful there are a few shrimp safe fish but nothing is certain. I have had success with the two Clown Killifish I keep with them, but I wouldn't risk it without being careful.
I've kept tropical tanks before but normally semi-aggressive so no inverts other than snails. Always thought they were really cool though.
They are cool but it's annoying not having anything to eat the dertritus worms and other pests that grow without fish to kep them in check.

Ehhhhh they help but as you can see they don't get all the algae.
I don't think they eat brown algae, on account of it being diatoms.
