    I think cuz bread is spongier and holds more moisture, the moisture will disperse amongst the cookies.

    Bread holds lots of moisture and will increase the humidity in the cookie container. The increase humidity will soften the cookies as they absorb the moisture. This is also why bread that's left out for a while will turn hard. Once that moisture is gone it hardens. Also, if you've ever frozen a bag of bread you will notice ice crystals form in the bag. This happens because as the temperature drops the moisture in the air inside the bag will condense and freeze on the outside of the bag, and the air looses moisture the moisture in the bread is pulled out and then freezes as well. This continues for a bit untill the bread itself starts to freeze. Once you take the bread out of the freezer however it becomes soggy. Because cold things will condense water from the air. Since the bread is so cold it will condense moisture and absorbed it. This creates a soggy, nasty atrocity that should never be allowed to exist. MOM. STOP STORING BREAD IN THE GOD DAMN REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER
