Related fun fact: Mining Melancholy is just a fan nickname that's stuck around. For whatever reason, the song wasn't on either the soundtrack or the sound test so it was never given a real name. The webmaster of the DK fansite that uploaded the first rip of the song had to name the file something, so he figured that Mining Melancholy sounded DK-y, and apparently been so DK-y that everyone think's it's the real name. The GBA version of DKC2 did put the song in the sound test, but they just labeled it "Kannon's Klaim."
The same webmaster was also the first person to rip and upload Galactic Pinball Virtual Boy soundtrack and got to name the tracks, some of which sounded way less official than Mining Melancholy but have stuck anyway because nobody cares about Galactic Pinball. The best name he came up with that sounds obviously fake was MOONMAN's Fandango. Yes, as in Mac Tonight. This Donkey Kong fansite from the 90s had a running joke about MOONMAN (always written in all caps) years before the YTMND Moonman fad that lead to the nazis appropriating this treasured McDonald's character.
This one's underrated, though it's Stickerbrush Symphony that will always have a place in my heart. Thanks for sharing!
It's Stickerbush, not "Stickerbrush."
