    A lot of libs and online types don't seem to consider that this war might just drag on for years and years, killing millions, and ultimately just turn into a frozen conflict with no resolution.

      While that certainly seems like what eternal Washington wants out of Ukraine, I'd rather bet on one side collapsing or retracting first.

      The human burden on Ukraine has been incredible, and the economic damage on pretty much all of Europe is grave after just 18 months of conflict. Doubt this drags on for many more years.

        Do you know if Putin has been able to consolidate power in the state because of the war? One of the big problems with post-Soviet Russia has been the rampant corruption due to oligarchic control and, frankly, it would be far more efficient if the state had more power.
